Complete Idiot’s Guide to Weight Loss

July 9, 2010

I’m still trying to shed a few pounds, so whenever I go to the bookstore, I invariably find myself thumbing through a few weight loss books. Today I saw the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Weight Loss, and almost bought it. It looked like a pretty decent book, with lots of advice about how to get started on a program, how to incorporate exercise into your daily routine, and how to stave off cravings for your favorite fatty foods.

But at this point, I think I need a book that goes beyond the basics. For instance, I want an expert to tell me about the best weight loss pills instead of automatically writing off every supplement as something evil. I also want a book that’s realistic about the menu plans, and doesn’t expect you to subsist on only fruits and vegetables for the rest of your life.

When I find that kind of diet book, I’ll buy it!
