NY Times Bestsellers for 71209

July 12, 2009

swimsuit How prolific is James Patterson?? It seems like he has a new title on the NY Times Bestseller List once every two or three months or so. He’s at the top with another No. 1 this week for a book called Swimsuit. Co-written by Maxine Paetro, the summary blurb says that the book is about “A former cop, now a reporter for The Los Angeles Times, [who]investigates the disappearance of a supermodel from a Hawaii hotel.” Hmm, sounds like a run-of-the-mill mystery from him.

The only other new hardcover fiction book on the list is The Apostle by Brad Thor. I’ve never heard of this author before, but the subject matter sounds kind of interesting. It’s a thriller about a Homeland Security “superagent” who gets involved in a ransom deal for an Al Qaeda operative. I might have to check that one out!
