Toxic Bedrooms

toxic-bedrooms My friend Amber is something of an alarmist and a hypochondriac rolled into one. When she’s not worried about the polar ice caps melting to cause a Day After Tomorrow scenario, she obsesses about germs and her health.

So I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when she recommended I read something called Toxic Bedrooms: Your Guide to a Safe Night’s Sleep by Walter Bader. Amber just got done with it and swears that there are tons of changes she needs to make in her room in order to create a safer environment — and she insists that I’ll feel the same way once I hear what the author has to say.

Personally, I have too much on my plate right now to worry about whether or not my sleep number bed is the most hypoallergenic around or to wonder how many dust mites might be living it up on the dead skin cells in my carpet.

I figure I’ve made it 35 years without having to turn my bedroom into some sort of hospital-like disinfected zone, so why start now?
